Not sure when he will be officially installed, and not sure when we'll be starting to pray for Pope Francis in our Divine Liturgies, and during Matinal and Vesperal services, etc... This Lutheran began tonight with in a Vesperal Eucharist celebrated with a neighboring congregation, naming "Francis, newly elected Bishop of Rome..." just before our own Bishops.

Axios!! Axios!! Axios!!
As we watch the installation of His Holiness, let's also remember each man called to lead one of our Churches. It's lonely at the top. May the Lord bless His Holiness, Pope Francis, and also all of the Primates, Patriarchs, Metropolitans, and Bishops of all the Apostolic Churches. And it can be equally lonely at the "top" of the parish. Pray for all Presbyters and Deacons and every ministerial order.

From. FrDeacon Daniel G. Dozier on FB Cardinal Dolan: “So we take the buses over and cardinals kind of wait outside to greet the new Holy Father as he comes back to Doma Santa Marta…and as the last bus pulls up, guess who gets off the bus? Pope Francis!"

Axios! Axios! Axios!
Eis polla aeti, Despota!
(And, on a side note, I'm delighted to see that the election of a member of the Society that educated us both has brought our dear friend and brother, Amado, to his keyboard for the first time in a long time. Prayers that all is well with you, old friend!)
Many years,
Neil

Well, besides Pope Francis having a full understanding of the Byzantine tradition, he also relies on public transportation to get to and from work, so I think I might find a lot in common with this Pope. All the more reason to enjoy the Conclave's selection.

The Holy Father turned down the more expensive gold and jewelled pectoral crosses in the papal sacristry and kept his own silver one which has the image of Christ the Good Shepherd with a lamb on his shoulders standing among his flock. http://forums.catholic.com/picture.php?albumid=2066&pictureid=14779
