Hello,

I am new to the forum and to Byzantine worship. I am hoping someone can direct me to a resource that will help me to learn how to sing the prayers sung in the Divine Liturgy. I would first like to learn to sing the Nicene creed and The Our Father then it would also be nice to learn the rest of the prayers over time.
Hearing the Nicene Creed and Our Father sung in the Divine Liturgy has touched my heart on such a way that I would love to learn to sing them with my children everyday at home.

The melodies vary between the different churches that utilize the Byzantine tradition. For the Ruthenian (Byzantine Catholic) melodies there are recordings available at the Metropolitan Cantor [metropolitancantorinstitute.org] website. These may help.

Well, I know in the Green Book there are only two melodies that the Nicene Creed is sung to. Although there are some parishes that only recite the Creed, I think I had a thread in this forum section on recited Nicene Creeds somewhere when I encountered that. Although the one Ruthenian melody for the Creed does sound a bit like the one from the UGCC...
