one question does the eastern rite catholic church
saction the use of home altars
i have a yahoo group which is a support from those laypeople
like myself who have a home altar and those who wish to set a side space in thier home for a home altar

We call it an Icon Corner. Just type it in your search engine and you'll find a lot of info.

I have one. It has icons, of course, but also statues my RC friends have given to me over the years. They coexist quite well.

i was just curious if the eastern rite

from a non byzantine background who wish to learn about them i try to educate people on the benefits and the beauty of having one in your home and how it can be a focal point in

It is also called (especially in Slavic languages) the "Bright Corner". Here is an old article from our friend Dr. Alexander Roman, parishoner of St. Nicholas UGCC in Toronto.
