Lord have mercy; Kyrie eleison; Lord have mercy on our brother Dan and his family, and send a miracle of Your Holy Will his way! Have you asked a lawyer about a loan modification? If you have a job, this should be a possibility... Contact a HUD-approved housing counseling service if your loan currently is behind in its payments, or if you believe it could fall behind or risk foreclosure in the near future. HUD requires these approved nonprofit companies to provide free help to homeowners facing foreclosure. There are other programs available for homeowners having issues making their mortgage payments on time. Your housing counselor will explain the options available based upon your specific situation.

Way too late for that. The Summary Judgement is the final Foreclosure decree telling us we will have 30 days to vacate and hand over the property, at which time the Sheriff will be instructed to throw our stuff onto the front lawn. We went through the whole loan modification thing already. The "modification" offered was: You sign a new 30 year mortgage, all lawyers fees accrued by the bank are added to the new mortgage which means the original mortgage of $90,000 becomes $245,000; if at any time during the entire life of the new 30 year loan, even if it be the last payment in the last year of the loan, you are more than 24 hours late, the house reverts to bank ownership automatically: no foreclosure, no court, nothing. That was not an offer we could accept.

Don't feel like you are a failure at anything, beating yourself up. I know that is easier said than done.
Suddenly in 2008, when my husband went into renal failure, we had zero income, and we found ourselves in a similar situation over a home we still owned in OH. We were able to sell it finally, made $4,000. The IRS however, said we made a $68,000 profit. Go figure! The house is gone, my husband has passed away, but I am still paying the IRS.
I KNOW IT HURTS! This is a totally crazy world we live in. Walk away with your head held high. The system our government has created, well it is nuts!
Don't walk away with regrets, coulda, woulda, shoulda. Walk away KNOWING that though you can't see it right now, God has something much better in store for you. A NEW LIFE, a happy healthy place.
Make this verse part of who you are in Christ, I had to learn too, and use it daily!
The LORD, your God, is in your midst, a warrior who gives victory; he will rejoice over you with gladness, he will renew you in his love. (Zephaniah 3:17)
