Lord, in Your mercy deliver our brother, Chaldean Catholic, from this troubling anxiety and lead him into Your peace, that he may go forth and help others find Your peace as well. Amen.

Prayers for the Lord's Servant to be healed of anxiety!

As one who also suffers from that malady, may I suggest a couple of things? Yes? Good . . .

You should practice the prayer of stillness. Go to a room where no one will bother you and where there is no internet access.

Empty your mind of everything, as much as possible, and then repeat the Jesus Prayer or any other prayer, slowly, word for word. If you want to linger on a particular word, do so for as long as you like.

Conversely, if this doesn't work, you should spend an hour praying psalms and otherwise working on "quantity." There will come a point in time when you will not want to continue that way - at that point, stop praying and then just return to silence, "listening" to the silence around you.

Give it an hour for starters, either way, whichever works best for you.

The more you pray in this way, the more your mind and heart will be occupied with the Presence of God Who controls and directs all things in our lives.

O most loving Father,
you want us to give thanks for all things,
to fear nothing except losing you,
and to lay all our cares on you,
knowing that you care for us:

Protect us from faithless fears and worldly anxieties,
and grant that no clouds in this mortal life
may hide from us the light of your immortal love
shown to us in your Son,
Jesus Christ our Lord.
AMEN.

Psalms 5:11-12 But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you. For you bless the righteous, O LORD; you cover him with favor as with a shield.
