Dear Pani Rose,
You overwhelm me!
This sounds like that bedtime story "When I lay me down to sleep, fourteen Angels watch to keep!"
These days I ask for tears with which to sorrow over my sins.
Thank you.

Alex I can identify with your problems in a way. My husband was diabetic, though his onset was late, it was rapid, with his passing in 2011 from kidney failure. Diabetes is a crazy disease!
Actuality sometime ago, I had been reading about St Benedict, which I had done before, but never realized he was the patron saint for kidneys. Then I realized that right down to my daughter buying his medal for me, St Benedict had been really attentive to me during those years with my husbands kidney problems. I had just thought it to be protection.
So when I got to looking at saints for the eyes the other day, I was just totally amazed.
All you heavenly saints please pray for Alex and all those on the forum suffering with diabetes!

Thank you and my condolences re: your husband!
As a Benedictine oblate, the medal of St Benedict is dear to me and I never take it off.
All diabetics can take St Benedict as their patron-protector, especially since the only way to handle diabetes is by a strict way of life, much like what Benedict prescribed in his Rule.
Cheers, Alexs

As a diabetic sufferer also, I know how difficult it is to maintain the required balance in our daily life.
For the past 2 years, I have gone through all the afflictions you are going through. Thank God my kidneys are improving, high blood pressure in check, colonoscopy showed a non-malignant growth, and I have partially regained my vision after cataract operation (on both eyes) more than a year ago.
I add my prayers for your improvement and well-being!
Amado
P.S. Welcome back!

Sorry forgot - it is so interesting to me that cinnamon is the oldest spice known to man, the Arabic culture uses it in everything but tomatoes. It has such an amazing effect of balancing sugar.

Thanks for sharing that Rose. I didn't know that about cinnamon, though I have recently been reading how all the spices that we use have various health qualities.

Nestle has gone to court trying to get control of this one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigella_sativaThe 'black seed' is so healing for diabetics, they wan't to control it. That is why pharmaceutical companies ignore them, try to desuade people's attention from them, because they come from nature. They can't make money off of them.

Dear Amigo Amado!
I never thought I'd communicate with you again, but Deo Gratias!
So sorry for all you have been through and yet God and His Most Holy Mother watches over you!!
Would you know, BTW, where one could get a statue of El Nino de Cebu?

Amen!
Recently, an MD was interviewed on a radio program about non-medical treatment for hay fever.
He said that the only thing that could help is a visit to a hospital for injections etc. And he added there was no "scientific proof" that bee pollen helped.
In fact, taking bee pollen (in concentrated form or pills is a good way) every morning for a couple of months before hay fever season will protect one against hay fever. Happened to me, my wife and so many others. But it takes time.
Diabetics should drink three litres of liquid per day - including one litre of . . . cinnamon tea.
I salute you!
Alex

Dear Alex:
I hope you are doing well!
I don't know if the image of "El Nino de Cebu" (also referred to as "Nuestro Senor Jesus" and "Santo Nino de Cebu") is available outside of the Philippines.
The Cebuanos also have a strong affection for His Mother under her patronal title: "Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe de Cebu."
Amado
