It seems that lately, the Forum has become a bit more polemical and a tad less Christ-like, on both sides of the aisle. I believe it would behoove us to remember why we were attracted here in the first place, a love of God's Holy Church. In keeping with that thought, I offer a short video of some snippets of the Presanctified Liturgy at this year's Eastern American Clergy Conference of ROCOR. Despite how one feels about Ukraine, ancient unions and all the other things that cause us to curl our lips and bare our teeth, let us pause for a few moments, experience some good Liturgy and regain our focus.

Dear Slavipodvizhnik,

You are more than correct!

I fly off the handle on these related subjects and I feel lousy afterwards.

The Administrator and the Moderators, I'm sure, believe this is a condition of my diabetes . . .

On the other hand, St Thomas Aquinas did say that it is a virtuous thing to be angry in a good cause.

I just don't know whether what I get upset about qualifies for that category . . .

Thank you for the link.

Perhaps my penance should be to have a lot of negative things said about the UGCC and the Union of Brest etc. and have me read these but without responding to them . . .

That would teach me . . .

Alex, many of us are thrilled to see you posting again after such a long absence. Don't be too hard on yourself. I find myself taking issue with many of the same posts, and I'm not even Ukrainian! smile

Be well, and stay with us here for many happy years.

Thank you for the beautiful link, friend!

I think all good Christians who engage in dialogue(hopefully not loud-speaker monologue) should recall the words of 1 Peter 3:15.

Quote
But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.

Let us attend to this wisdom :-)
