Before I ask my question, let me first say that I know things vary from parish to parish, and eparchy to eparchy.

I would just like a general opinion as to which Church has best restored the liturgical services to their authentic roots. Also, which church is more enthusiastic in regaining the original Eastern Catholic tradition, minus latinizations. Basically, the two Churches I'm trying to get a grasp on is the Ukrainian Greek Catholic and the Byzantine Ruthenian Catholic. Which one has been best restored to date.

I don't mean to offend any one, just an honest question, and trying to understand the current wave of things.

Thanks, Chris

Dear Chtets,

There is such wide variety in the UGCC that any generalization would be just that.

There are parishes and monasteries in the UGCC which would be virtually indistinguishable from those in the most Eastern of their Orthodox counterparts.

There are others which are more Latin than anything the RC's currently have across a number of respects.

So we've become like the Anglicans, in some sense: Low and lazy, Middle and hazy, and High and crazy.

Alex
