According to what is now the prevailing paradigm in the West, it is accepted as fact that with regard to homosexuality, a person or group can only be one of two things: - "Gay-friendly"
- A "gay-basher"
Absolutely no via media is recognized.Naturally, no true Christian can be either of these, but it seems that whatever attempts are being made to address this problem from a Christian perspective in a coherent, systematic and unbiased manner have thus far gotten little attention and generated little discussion (which is rather frightening when one consideres that this issue is now poised to bring about massive schisms and persecutions affecting every Christian body in the West). This article is an attempt to generate such discussion: Homosexuality: A New Approach is Needed
[ crisismagazine.com] (FWIW, "gay-friendly" means nothing less than the complete acceptance of homosexuality as normal, natural and moral, while a "gay-basher" is anyone who questions this)

While I agree a lot with the article I don't see that the proposed policy will have any acceptance in this society. The prevailing media and current governmental ideology is that the homosexual is normal and MUST be recognized and treated equally.

This is a good article and speaks realistically. I would think that there is a parallel between other conditions which were simply thought immoral and untreatable in the past. Choices need to be made and treatment sought by homosexuals. They need to understand the unhealthy nature of their behavior and life styles. Right now our culture is not only condoning homosexual behavior; but actually promoting it. To me this speaks out that it is our culture which is unhealthy and headed down a destructive path.
God, have mercy on us all. Forgive us for we know not what we do! Bring healthy changes to homes, families, churches, and nation.

Thanks, Alice.
We are fine! Now 76 and (would you believe) my husband is 80. Still hiking, still doing lots with family especially teenage grandkids' activities which are many, and involved in interfaith prayer ministry and also greeters at church. I don't spend as much time on line but more than I really should. Every so often just pop in to see how it goes here.
peace and blessings to you and yours. And everyone here!

While I agree a lot with the article I don't see that the proposed policy will have any acceptance in this society. The prevailing media and current governmental ideology is that the homosexual is normal and MUST be recognized and treated equally. Deacon Paul, As I stated, the article is less than perfect, and this is one detail the author simply failed to address. I, too, would really like to know who is doing the studies she refers to, since it is now more than 40 years since the American Psychiatric Association removed homosexuality from its list of disorders, and for anyone to attempt to study it as though it were a disorder would certainly marginalize them within the scientific community (not to mention the risk they would incur of being prosecuted for "hate crimes"). While it is possible she is deliberately concealing their identities, it is also possible she is making that part up. However, anything that's being done to get back to a balanced understanding of homosexuality *has* to be a good thing--even if it's only to remind people that it is possible to acknowledge *some* kind of middle ground between "all gays are evil" and "isn't it great to be gay?" Peace, Deacon Richard
