In fact, the room was filled with barely suppressed rage by both Orthodox and Greek Catholics that was really palpable.

The Roman Catholics, who tried to play down the issue, seemed to be stupefied, absolutely clueless about what was happening. They just did not get it. They saw it as a superficial disciplinary matter, whereas the Greek Catholics and Orthodox saw it as both a lack of respect for, and an attack upon, the integrity of their own shared Tradition.

Are you actually this obnoxious in real life?

The same observation about many westerners' attitudes regarding this issue has been made by many - including those, like Fr. James, who bear no animus towards their Greek Catholic "krajanyj."

Truth hurts.

Is it Stuart you are characterizing as being arrogant and stupid? If so, you're terribly off base. He might possibly be arrogant, but he's anything but stupid.

Franciscum,

There is nothing in what Stuart said that was either arrogant or stupid.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen once wrote that we are in fact what we call others.

You owe him and this forum an apology.

There was a very nice write up on the ordination of two married deacons to the priesthood in our Eparchy's newsletter, Light of the West, today. I don't see it posted on the eparchy's website yet, but when I do (or if anyone else sees it pleas post)I'll post the link.

Axios to Frs. Michael and Brian.

So this would suggest the individual is "stupefied, absolutely clueless"?

I appreciated Bp. Gerald's reference to the quote by St. John Vianney...

Franciscus,

I don't want to go into that. I just don't understand why you would want to do an ad hominem against one of the most widely read and knowledgeable members of this forum and of the Eastern Catholic tradition as is Stuart.

It just shows intellectual weakness on the part of those who engage in such language.

I hope we can all live together as brothers and sisters here.

I am on the front page of that!

I also don't recall any mention of Father Michael or Father Brian being married in the newsletter. :p

It does indeed.

Perhaps you should be focusing your comments to "Stuart?" His comments may be accurate but they are also often obnoxious.

No explicit mention of them being married, although it could be inferred from the pictures.

Oh. Glad to read that. And here I thought it was just me being sensitive.
