St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church celebrated their 75th Anniversary Jubilee with a Divine Liturgy and Dinner on October 27, 2013. Here is an album from the experience.
Celebrants were:
Bishop John Kudrick, Fr. Steven Koplinka, Fr. Mitred Archpriest John Kachuba, Fr. James Batcha, Fr. Joseph Repko, Fr. Michael Hayduk, and Fr. Deacon Joseph Hnat and Fr. Deacon John Petrus.
Non-celebrating clergy:
Fr. Mitred Archpriest Dennis Hrubiak, Fr. Miron Kerul-Kmec, Fr. Bruce Riebe, Fr. Deacon Andrew Nagrant, and Fr. Deacon Dan Surniak.
All in all, it was a great turnout for the Divine Liturgy, and it is always nice to see a Byzantine Catholic Parish in an urban area celebrate such a good milestone. It certainly is quite an experience, and quite a historic parish. I think this is one of the few original parishes (meaning that it still operates in the same area where it was originally consecrated) that I can think of in the City of Cleveland. The other being St. Nicholas Croatian near downtown. May God grant this parish community many, blessed years. They have a lot going for them, a successful school program, a good choir that performs on occasions, a pyrohy project, and a vibrant community.
