After years of deliberation and severe internal debate, I am finally going to request an official change of Rites within the Catholic Communion and become a Byzantine.

I avoided doing so for quite some time, because I did not manifest genuine charity towards other forms of worship within the Church. I was once a very critical and harsh judge of modern worship; requesting a Rite change then would have been intellectually and spiritually dishonest. Different folks find different venues of peace within the Church and the world, whether it is sublime chant or guitar strumming. I find my solace in the former, but as long as we all attend to those primary duties of bringing souls to Christ and performing thos eacts of mercy and charity, God will smile upon us.

Sorry for my rant, but I have found this to be a welcoming group of decent folks who listen.

To which Church are going to be enrolled in?

If you need any advice let me know. I don't have much to offer but I can share where the process for me it got hung up. I will be changing my church of enrollment officially this Sunday 11/10/13.

It has been an interesting 14 month process for me, with many obstacles because my Latin Bishops was in the dark about the process.

Gods speed on your journey.

As far as I know, I think that Bishop Richard Lennon of the Diocese of Cleveland is normally open to the idea of those transferring to the Eparchy of Parma and/or Eparchy of St. Josaphat all the time. Let's hope in time I will take the initiative to transfer my Canonical Rite sooner rather than later myself. I'm sure Bishop John Kudrick and Bishop Richard Lennon have worked well together on these in the past.
