(Administrator, if this is inappropriate in Church News, please move it. The origin is the USCCB, which includes Eastern Catholic Bishops.) Pornography is a subject which attacks the human person "created in the image of God" and respect for the human person. The bishops have approved the preparation a plan to address this cultural and moral decay. Bishop Malone said that possible statement topics include chastity and sexuality; basic information about pornography, its use and its effects on users and users’ families; the negative effects of pornography on society; an “authentic vision” of the human person; and “the mercy, grace of conversion and freedom Christ offers through his Church, especially through the sacraments and prayer.http://www.ncregister.com/daily-news/u.s.-bishops-to-address-pornographys-serious-challenges/

Perhaps I don't remember correctly, but didn't they issue a document on the same subject some years ago? As I recall, it came out, and was quickly forgotten.

There is an awesome association known as "Morality in the Media (MiM)" that lobbies for stricter controls against the sexualisation of young people and the constant exposure of porn in Movies, TV and the Media in general.
I do believe the founder is Catholic.
The effects of porn are huge and very damaging, so I'm glad to see that the Bishops are being vocal about this issue.
