Wonderful news!

I highly recommend the book "Wounded By Love" by Elder (Saint) Porphyrios!

Indeed, good news. Agios Porphyrios, intercede for us!

I met a lady from Athens who had gone to see him a few times. She shared one experience with me. Her friend had found a strange knot of sorts in her home, so the two ladies decided to see Saint Porphyrios about it.

At their visit, he was sweet and started engaging them in pleasant conversation from the beginning. He took the knot she had in her hand and continued the conversation he had started.

After a little time, they brought the conversation around to why they were there. The lady who had gone there with the knot proceeded to say something about what seemed to be a knot as used in dark witchcraft, when the Elder interrupted her and said "what knot? Do not worry about it."

Indeed, they were shocked because it had simply disappeared!
Such were his many mystical charisms in helping others.

In addition to the above, I offer this translation of an article I just saw on:

Gerontas Paisios and Gerontas Porphyrios, what one said about the other:

Following yesterday's glorification of Elder Porphyrios, it is timely now, more than ever, to remember what he had to say about another great spiritual Elder, Paisios, who was his contemporary. Quite a few Orthodox Christians would like to see the same glorification happen for him too.

What Elder Paisios had to say about Elder Porphyrios was characteristic of him. Indeed, it was pleasurable to see how Elder Paisios and Elder Porphyrios thought about each other.

Here is an example:

- "Elder" said one brother in Christ to Elder Paisios , "I want to see you for a problem that I have also discussed with the Elder Porphyrios."

- Elder Paisios responded to him: "If you have already discussed this problem with Elder Porphyrios, then you do not need me.

In his characteristically humble but humorous manner, he explained why: "Elder Porphyrios is color satellite TV, but I am only black and white!"

As for Elder Porphyrios , he told us this about Elder Paisios:

"The grace which Elder Paisios has is worth more than mine. He acquired it after it the labors and sweat of ascetism, while, in my case, when I was a child, God gave me His grace for free-for no other reason other than to help my brothers and sisters in Christ."
