Indeed.

Yes. It is obvious that we deserve this godless administration. Perhaps it will help Christians with metanoia.

Russia is building Churches. Putin often talks about good Christian moral issues. The blood of the countless martyrs from the tragic days of Communism will help to revive Russia. They have a long way to go....but I think they are on the right track.

I have. Many I have spoken to, tell me of the exact opposite that you and Stuart continually set forth.

If he has a negative view of Orthodox Christianity in Russian society, I can offer many positive and hopeful views.

(I can adapt to the political correctness of this thread just fine.)

Your biting sarcasm is not necessary or appreciated.

Perhaps you would like to see Mr. Putin play hockey?

This article was not about President Putin! It was a historical analysis of the religious atmosphere that allowed atheism to become the official stand of Russia and the Soviet Union for so many decades

This obsession with Putin is as bad as the obsession with Bush a few years ago.

It is interesting that both men are religious and not ashamed of promoting Christianity, and both men are considered evil, and judged as evil.

A statesman's policies are one thing, and we may agree or not agree with those policies, we may even loathe those policies, and be very angry about those policies, but judging a leader, or any man or woman's heart is totally another thing, which our Lord advised us not to do.

May I suggest, in my capacity as Moderator and poster of the article, that we stop it! It is unfair to us who are happy to see our brothers and sisters in Christ take baby steps towards the faith of their forefathers and who want to discuss it civilly and dispassionately.

Alice

Another moderator has just suggested that I lock the thread since I initiated it. It seems that the topic of Russia in any form cannot be discussed here without it disintegrating.
