Ad hominem, nice. You're better off not replying at all at this point. I don't expect you to change your hyperbole but I appreciate how easy you make it for me to give context to what you say for the rest of the forum.
Incidentally, I've never heard him say that about 9/11. Have a link?

Let me put it this way--using Seymour Hersh as a source on foreign policy is like using the Onion as a source for, well, anything. Both are equally credible.

Putin is a philandering quasi-dictator with a fair amount of blood on his hands who uses religion for political purposes and is guilty of about half the things Stuart accuses him of.
I get equally nauseous when people sing about him like a lion of Christian faith and mercy as I do when they accuse him of continuing the Cold War totally by himself and not at all in response to equal Western provocations against Russia.
Putin is whoever your agenda needs him to be, it seems. Putin again?!? LOL! He would be flattered if he knew how much he is discussed here!

That reply was posted to thread about moderating posts about Russian politics. But it ended up here somehow now I can't find the original post. How very... Putin-esque?

His, err, sources are. Go ahead and read the articles. Turns out he interviews people and quotes them in his articles and stuff. Crazy right??

Yeah. Hersh goes out and finds people who are as crazy as he is, then he uses their quotes to buttress his case. You need to research Seymour Hersh a little. You'll be citing Noam Chomsky to me soon. After that, there's no place to go but Howard Zinn.

Ad hominem all you like and parrot the Obama administration, it just sounds silly. Since my aim is not to change your mind but expose the deficiencies in your claims to anyone reading, it only helps.
You'll be citing John Kerry to me soon. And after that, there's no place to go but the Clintons.

Does anyone still read Chomsky and Zinn? If so I doubt it is jpp. In any case putting Stuart to the left of John Kerry is a bit much. You guys ought to consider a reality series. I think it would be at least as interesting as Duck Dynasty.
If you intend to continue this mutual face slapping you might consider a comment I once heard about Andrew Greeley. "He never had an unpublished thought."
A bunch of these recent thoughts would be best unpublished.

Does anyone still read Chomsky and Zinn? If so I doubt it is jpp. Not that I know of, and you are correct of course. In any case putting Stuart to the left of John Kerry is a bit much. Not to the left of (whatever that means in a foreign policy sense). More like, lock-step. You guys ought to consider a reality series. I think it would be at least as interesting as Duck Dynasty. Politics aside I usually think Stuart is on the money, much of what he says about Orthodoxy and Catholicism has informed my own POV as I have navigated the Eastern Catholic maze. He's just stuck in the WW4 mentality. If you intend to continue this mutual face slapping you might consider a comment I once heard about Andrew Greeley. "He never had an unpublished thought."
A bunch of these recent thoughts would be best unpublished. Stuart is excellent at steering a debate away from his weak points. It probably comes from his familiarity with military tactics. I realize you have to force him to respond on your terms rather than his. It's easy to slip into becoming uncharitable, and I try to walk that line in an appropriate manner. Apologies to all when I fail at that.
