I think it's getting to that point in terms of dialogue. And I just don't think unity interests this Pope.

Then maybe it's time to step back on all sides and take a good long look at what each of the Churches expects from the dialogue. I think that the Orthodox expect some kind of return to a communion that existed in the first millenium. I think the Latins expect some sort of mass movement of the Orthodox Churches under the Oriental Congregation. It's just that neither side has really been sufficiently blunt when they sit down. It's being ecclesiastically polite. Somewhere in between vitriolic polemics and this latter attitude, there must be room for some sort of communication that would strip away the rose-colored glasses and get to the meat of the nut.
