There is a Holy Week religious tradition among many Slavic Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, and Old Believers for women and children to bring their Easter food to the parish on Holy Saturday where the pastor blesses it before it is cooked. In my family, my sister now takes our kielbasa, ham, potatoes, vegetables, and Easter eggs to her parish church where the priest blesses the food (and the parishioners) before all of us gather to celebrate Christ's Resurrection on Easter Sunday.
Here is how Old Believers in Romania continue their Easter traditions.
