I am surprised to see this.

Yes, there used be a bookstore at OLF when I visited years back, but I am not sure if these icons were from the bookstore.

A few years ago before moving to its present location, the chapel did undergo a "makeover" in which many icons were removed from the walls and the interior looked "less Russian". I wonder if it is these icons that are being sold.

I am sure one of our fellow Forum members who attend OLF can provide an explanation.

The labels on the obverse are typical of icons offered in bookstores. I's be interested in what MaryLouise might be able to tell us once she's had an opportunity to inquire further.

Many years,

Neil

I just received this from our deacon, Fr Dn Kyrill:
Quote
Christ is among us
These icons have not come from our chapel they were purchased through the bookstore. I am not for sure when. We use to take the bookstore out to a number of catholic conferences in the past
We have not done that for quite some time due to the expense, and commitment by parishioners to be involved in fund raising efforts. Also, one of the events moved to Santa Clara. However, I hopeful that in the future that we will move forward and become more involved in such events.

I hope that assures people. These were not icons that had been blessed and used in our chapel. smile

Thank you for sharing this beautiful Icon of the Immaculate Virgin. I am wondering if they might have one of the Virgin of Pochiav? Does anyone know. That is one of the most revered icons among those of us who are Ukrainian Catholics.
