With gratitude to God, our family is happy to join with our friends and family as our hierarch, His Grace, Bishop Gregory of Nyssa, ruling Bishop of the ACROD, ordains our son and brother, Father Deacon Matthew Dutko to the Holy Priesthood during the Divine Liturgy at 9:00 am, Sunday, August 31, 2014, Holy Ghost Orthodox Church, Starr and Bridge Streets, Phoenixville, PA. Father Deacon Matthew is a 2014 graduate of Christ the Saviour Seminary in Johnstown, PA and a 2009 graduate of the University of Buffalo. The newly ordained Father Matthew will be the third member of our family. following his grandfather, the late Protopresbyter Stephen Dutko and his uncle, Protopresbyter James Dutko, to serve the Orthodox faith in the Holy Priesthood since our grandparents came to these shores over a hundred years ago. Upon his ordination, Father Matthew and his Pani, Kathryn, will travel to Woodstock, Georgia where Father Matthew will assume the pastorate of St. Elizabeth Orthodox Church of that community. Axios! Many Years! Mnohaja Lit!
Axios! May Father Matthew be blessed with many years in God's service!
"One day all our ethnic traits ... will have disappeared. Time itself is seeing to this. And so we can not think of our communities as ethnic parishes, ... unless we wish to assure the death of our community."
Congratulations to Father Matthew, Pani Kathryn, and to his entire family, particularly his Dad, our dear brother and friend, David.
Many years,
Neil
