Pope Francis on Cardinal Burke, the synod, Curia reform and more [ johnthavis.com] Very interesting--I especially like where he says (regarding the resistance to his ideas now surfacing among other church leaders): Resistance is now evident, and that is a good sign for me: getting the resistance out into the open--no stealthy mumbling when there is disagreement. It´s healthy to get things out into the open, it's very healthy. It all seems normal to me; if there were no difference of opinions, that wouldn't be normal. Peace, Deacon Richard

I agree with the Pope here! Bringing out differences in the churches indicates where there is work to be done as well and this does serve a 'purpose.' We cannot strive to unite the churches if we ignore or do not know what 'irks' each side to be able to arrive into a 'communion' upon which to found a unified Church. You have to look at where ALL the issues and problems lie to be able to examine them fully to engage in a dialogue. Pope Francis I is 'real' - a genuine intelligent soul and I love his approach! Christine
