Dear Mark,

Very good articles - thank you.

The post-Vatican II RC Church did go "whole hog" on the term "secular" as I've indicated and is now backing away from it (thankfully).

It is confusing at best and leads to the idea that Christians have somehow become worldly at worst.

Even in Ukrainian, the old term for "laity" was (and still is in some circles) "Miryany" (literally "those of the world"). Now, happily, the Orthodox in Ukraine use the term "Viryany" or "those of faith."

Cheers,

Alex

Thank you for your kind words John and Alice. It is a challenging endeavor in this ever increasing secular humanist environment. It is especially challenging for my wife.....who is the primary teacher for home school.

We are all trying to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. The rewards are eternal! smile
