Fr. Andrew Stephen Damick has written a wonderful blog post about Fr. Matthew Baker [blogs.ancientfaith.com]. For those who did not know Fr Matthew, a glimpse at what made him special.

I hesitated to post his passing in this section of the Forum yesterday, so posted only in the prayer section. But I think the loss of Fr. Matthew is a huge loss to Orthodoxy and way beyond. Fr. Andrew's piece give a sense of that.

May his memory be eternal!

Fr. Matthew in this excellent interview [myocn.net] last year in anticipation of the Apostolic Pilgrimage to Jerusalem of the Pope and Patriarch.

The loss of Father Baker is devastating to those of us who are followers of the path of Eastern Christianity. He was 'ABD' at Fordham. Here is his CV. I hope that his doctoral dissertation may be finished up by his colleagues as a tribute. https://fordham.academia.edu/BakerMatthew
