I read that Christ rested in the tomb on Holy Saturday. Does this mean that we shouldn't do work on this day? I came across an Orthodox website that said that no cooking or baking should be done.

The problem is the way I planned it before was to make an Easter cake today for my roommate. Also would it be wrong to buy a couple food items today?

Thank you!

Make your Easter cake, buy your food. Don't get worked up over rules you read on the internet, which are often local pious customs that get inflated into universal church laws. Also, Christ wasn't just resting, he was also busting through Hell like a level 20 paladin hacking through a dungeon.

We changed our plans and decided to make the cake on Monday instead smile so it seems my question isn't really relevant anymore but it would still be good to know smile
