The other day, no matter where I turned, my family and others were getting struck by something. Dear Lord, we need help in prayer! What shows up on my FB page, a picture of Mother Teresa and her Memorarie Novena. (As I looked afterwards, it seems to have different descriptive word titles.) Hope this is OK, often we are in crisis for prayer. I have to say for everything going on around us, Blessed Mother sure did bring a lot of order. Maybe others can find aid also.

The Memorare was one of her secret weapons. She had a very deep love for Our Lady, and she prayed the Rosary all day long. Literally. Her rosary was always in her hands. Her lips always moving in prayer… whether silently or out loud

In times of great need, when there seemed to be no solution to some obstacle in her way, she turned to the Memorare:

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

When facing difficult circumstances, she did not pray this prayers just once. No. She would offer an “express” novena. Nine Memorares in a row. And, as you will read below, she always prayed a 10th Memorare in thanksgiving, confident that her prayers would be answered.

Very good Pani Rose!

By way of footnote, the Memorare of St Bernard wasn't actually "of Saint Bernard" but by a French Catholic priest, Fr. Bernard, a Paris prison chaplain, who would give copies of this prayer especially to those condemned to execution . . .

The article reminded me of a story a priest gave at my parish. A while back she stayed at a Passionist convent close to us and while picking her up he needed gas from the station near by. This was during the fuel shortage. The gas attendant did not know she was in the car. Apparently, he was able to get gas and he said that was sort of a small miracle. Like the story I recall had many more details, but I was caught up that she was like two miles away from us.

Did not know she did a tenth Memorare in thanksgiving.

Has anyone ever heard of 81 glory-be's in honor of the nine choir of angels?

My emergency/desperation novena is nine glory-be's and Memorare for nine hours begging for the intercession of the Nine choirs of Angels and our Lady.
