I was told that 35,000 medovniki will be baked for the Uniontown pilgrimage. Talk about rolling in the dough!

Has there been any news on camping out there yet?

Seen people do it in the past and now my son is old enough and I want to sign up.

Stivvy,

As a sign of our suspicious and demented times Safe Environment safeguards are required. You can read more here http://www.sistersofstbasil.org/events-2/documents/ Your pastor or director of religious education can help you with details.

We've been camping at the Pilgrimage for nearly 10 years now & since we've always been there with the children, we've never had need of any of the forms which Deacon Paul gave a link to. We'll be camping this year from Thursday evening through Monday afternoon. Look for us in the big white van with a green canopy tent set up next to it. Come & say hello. smile We camp on the side of the field closest to the cemetery.

Thank you. Do you have to sign up to have a camp site? Or do you just show up and pick your spot?

I think the forms are for if they are doing a teen campout, pilrimage, or other event. We had to do one for Mariapoch for our son that participated in the teen campout, but not for the rest of the family (who was also camping there).

I believe the forms for the Pilgrimage at Mt. St. Macrina are for teens who will be attending without a parent/guardian. We always camp as a family, so have had no need for the forms. Our teens have taken part in the teen events without forms/registration, since we are on the monastery grounds as well.

Join us for Pilgrimage Preparation Day on Saturday, August 22 at 9:30 a.m. at the Trinity Center. We'll begin with prayer, spend the morning working, break for lunch, the return to complete any unfinished tasks.

Come & volunteer as the Sisters get ready to host the 81st Annual Pilgrimage. Volunteers will clear floral gardens, shrines, urns & other planting areas throughout the grounds, & then plant annuals. Other work centers will be the pavilions, which will be cleared of a winter’s worth of leaves & other debris. There may be some chores indoors as well.
