Point taken. No it wasn't always boring. It is a bit boring now. Maybe we should discuss the virtues of dark chocolate more often in order to liven things up. I could try to say more but I suspect that there would be repercussions.

I think that the trend away from moderated forums like this or Orthodox Christianity.net is not unique to either site. For what it is worth, the discussions there - a site with some historical linkage to this one - are usually insipid and full of odd notions. I post far less regularly there and here.

ByzanTN and everyone else,

I don't think there is as much agreement on this forum as there may appear to be.

As an example, consider the AP-HP-LP categorization/theory/whatever you want to call it, that sometimes comes up here. I know (or at least strongly believe) that some posters here regard it as shall-we-say "enshrined" and unquestionable. On the other hand, some of us have a very different opinion of that same theory, but choose not to engage in argument with those who promote it, since doing so would increase their proverbial air-time.

So, bottom line, two very different -- practically opposite -- takes on the same theory but leading to the same outcome (i.e. not-arguing with that theory); hence how it can appear on the surface that all posters are on the same page.
