I have just posted an article on my blog describing my parish's forthcoming 'sponsored prayer walk' [priestofthechurch.wordpress.com].

It will be our first attempt at some sort of outreach, on the basis that, if the early Welsh saints did it, there is no reason why we cannot do the same today. That is, the likes of Saint David were not afraid to be seen as Christians in the midst of a hostile culture, and by walking through the heart of the modern city of Cardiff bearing the image of Christ in the ancient Church, we can do the same thing he did, today.

Please take a look at what we have planned, and support us if you are able. Equally, I will be happy to answer questions about the event here on this forum, and will take prayer requests regardless of sponsorship.

I would simply ask you to pray for us as we seek to bear the Gospel in a fresh new (if also ancient) way to the people of South Wales.

Doors Open is a good idea. It is something I think we might aim for around Julian Christmas.

In the meantime, my new pastoral assistant and I will be hitting the main streets of Cardiff during the Christmas shopping period, and possibly getting out there on periodic Friday and Saturday nights to provide water, etc., to the drunken souls leaving the bars.

First the walk, though!

I will be doing something similar as the chairman of the DuBois (PA) Area Life Chain on Respect Life Sunday, October 4.

Another similar activity is 40 Days for Life which begins today.

Noting it's been about 3.5 months since those events, can you (either of you) tell us about the results?
