In March 2005 I walked past this church ruins every day and worked about 1,000 ft from it on Camp Danger the FOB of the 42nd Infantry Division. The ancient church actually was a Syrian Church Orthodox monastery and not Assyrian Church Of The East. Breaks my heart to read this!
