Hello all, I am an unbaptized Protestant in the process of becoming a Catholic. I am joining RCIA next September and am currently discerning whether I should be Roman Rite or Eastern (Maronite) Rite. Since I am unbaptized, cannonly, I should be able to convert straight into the Eastern Rite without any of the added hassle (something about Protestants belonging to the Roman/Latin Rite?).
I really enjoy my current Western Rite Church, but I have been interested in the Eastern traditions (I started out as an Inquirer in Orthodoxy, but never made it to their church). So I guess in short, is the conversion process different than the Latin/Roman Rite? What are some of the differences between the East and the Romans? And finally, what are some tips for attending a Maronite Liturgy?
Thanks in advance, and God bless friends
