I used to be an edgy atheist type, but now I'm becoming an Orthodox Christian (on the 29th of January is when I get baptised) and I'm looking for a patron and a name since the priest says my name isn't a proper Christian name.

Saint Paul is of course the most famous convert who used to hate Christianity, are there any others?

It seems every other day in the Prologue from Ohrid (if you are not reading it yet, you should) a pagan executioner or pagan priest witnesses the martyrdom of a saintly virgin or presbyter and receives Christ. They may not be so well known to merit a separate feast themselves, but they are usually included with the saint whose witness inspires them. It is online from the ROCOR Australia diocese...maybe flip around the days around the day you will be received and you may find a saint to help commemorate that day.

Check out St. Genesius. An actor who mocked Christians, but then experienced a conversion on stage which led to his martyrdom.
