Christ is Risen!!
Recently read an article by a Muslim professor at Al-Azar University in Egypt. He made the remark that having a church in a neighborhood was equivalent to having a "brothel" in the neighborhood. He also stated that allowing a church to be repaired once it is damaged was equivalent to repairing a brothel and that it would be better to have a brothel repaired than a church. So our brethren are in more danger than we in the West even imagine.
There's also an interesting fact of life for those who live in majority Muslim lands. The rules for "dhimmis" state that protected people lose their protected status and may be killed at will by any Muslim if, at any time, they are perceived to be receiving support from outside the Muslim territory or appeal to those outside the Muslim territory in which they live. It dawned on me that this is the reason for the wholesale persecution in Syria and Iraq--the indigenous Christians are being labeled as being no longer protected since the invasions of the last couple decades, especially with our people being there fighting. It's okay for Muslims to fight Muslims but not okay for infidels to get in on either side.
