Hi all! What do you think about this kind of icon? Is it legit? It's a bit strange and don't seem to be canonical. What is the full meaning and interpretation of this picture? Is God the Father who is depicted at the top or is the Son as the Ancient of Days?

I have seen this around. It is a specifically Russian icon, I think. Some other kinds of Orthodox might condemn it for various reason, but the Russians (and friends of their traditions) would uphold it because of its antiquity and its tradition.
