Berlin -Germany: Former Metropolitan-Primate Severious Moses Gurgon of the Antiochian Syriac Orthodox Church of Europe (non-existing) was received as an Archbishop into the Genuine Orthodox Church of Greece (Avlona Synod) in 2016. He is the Archbishop of the newly created Archdiocese of Myron in Germany.
Severious Moses Gurgon was a monk of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch and All East. Severius Moses left the Syriac Church in personal disagreement with the hierarchy. Later, he was consecrated as the Metropolitan of Antiochian Syriac Orthodox Church of Europe by the Indian Orthodox Malankara Church. Later he was excommunicated for violating canonical rules with regard to the consecration of new bishops.
Genuine Orthodox Church of Greece (Avlona Synod) is one the non-canonical Greek Orthodox Churches which is not in communion with any of the Eastern Orthodox Churches. The current Primate of the church is Metropolitan Angelos of Avlona and Beotias. The church has sixteen archbishops and has faithful in the USA and Europe.
