If you would in your charity, remember my daughter-in-law Catherine in your prayers. Her cancer seems to have gotten worse.
Also prayers for the newly departed Archpriest Steven Mack. He was my classmate, class of '76 from St. Tikhon's Seminary.
Also for the newly ordained deacon Paul. He was ordained yesterday at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Dixonville, PA by Archbishop Daniel.

Watch, dear Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep,
and give your angels charge over those who sleep.
Keep the sick, rest the weary, bless the dying,
soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous,
for into your hands we commend all for whom we pray
trusting in your mercy through your Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Lord have mercy.I pray that your daughter in law will find healing through the intercessions of the saints. I especially pray to St. Nektarios the wonderworker who is the patron for those ill and those suffering from cancer...

The offspring of Selyvria and the guardian of Aegina
the true friend of virtue who appeared in the last days
we faithful honor thee as a Godly servant of Christ
for thou pourest forth healings of all kinds for those who piously cry out:
Glory to God who glorified thee
Glory to Him who made thee wonderous
Glory to Him who worketh healing for all through thee

Prayers for Catherine, that the Lord God grant her the fullness of healing.

Prayers for the newly departed Archpriest Stephen. May the Lord God grant him a peaceful repose in a place of light, a place of green pasture, a place of refreshment, whence all pain, sorrow, and sighing have fled away. May He grant him eternal memory.

Prayers for the newly ordained Deacon Paul. May the Lord God bless him and his ministry. May He grant him many years in peace, health and salvation!

Taper candles will be lit and prayers said for each of these intentions this morning before the icon of the Mother of God.

Thank you all for your prayers. I have the sad duty to report that Catherine is dying. We did the Canon for departure of the soul yesterday. Its now a matter of a day or possibly just hours.

“O Lord,
support us all the day long of this troubled life,
until the shadows lengthen and the evening comes and the busy world is hushed,
the fever of life is over and our work is done.
Then, Lord, in your mercy,
grant us a safe lodging,
and a holy rest,
and peace at the last,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

May the Lord God grant to his servant, Catherine, eternal memory in a place of verdant pastures, where there is no pain, sighing or mourning.

Eternal Memory!
