It has been some time since I have posted on this forum. It does appear there is less activity now than there was in the past. Hopefully this is not a sign in decrease in numbers.
I didn't want to have a run-on title so I used abbreviations for Roman Catholic (RC), Eastern Catholic (EC), Eastern Orthodox (EO). I am sure everyone probably already understood that.
I have still continued to learn and read about Eastern Catholicism and have attended several Eastern Catholic Divine Liturgies. However, there are a number of issues or positions I still lack clarity on,nor am I able to find little definitive direction on. I do have a series of questions I would like to ask but rather than provide a shopping list I'll ask them in a series of different threads. Hopefully, their will be input that will be helpful to others, as well.
I start with one in which I was wondering-How much authority or actual involvement does the Pope have in the administration of the Eastern Catholic Churches? I know that there is a certain degree of autonomy in the Eastern Churches and some have a "Patriarch" or a Bishop who for lack of a better term governs that particular Church. Does that mean that decisions ends there or must he consult with the Pope on certain issues? If so, what might that be?
.Thanks.
