I'm doing the Eastern Fast this year but I'm just having a little trouble finding recipes or is it recommended to eat raw foods during Lent?
Thank you!

Welcome to the forum. We hope your time with us will be spiritually fruitful.
You can check out our food section under Town Hall. From there, you ought to check out cookbooks online and in any book store. The diet is essentially a Mediterranean diet without the foods proscribed by the Lenten rules.

Christ is in our midst!!
My mother-in-law of blessed memory had a recipe that she used on Fasting days: a variation of Past Fagioli.
She took a can of white navy beans with the juice, a whole stalk of celery, and five cloves of garlic. She softened the garlic in a non-stick pan with some water, added the beans with juice, and added the entire celery together with its leaves (rough chop). Simmer this for 20 minutes to half an hour to thicken. Meanwhile cook a whole pound of Angel Hair pasta and drain. Add the pasta to the thickened beans, celery and garlic. Add some red pepper flakes or banana peppers at the table to taste.
