Mary Lou, a dear friend to myself and my family for 5 decades, has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma. Currently, she is in the stage termed 'smoldering', which is an asymptomatic, intermediate phase between plasma cell disorders that are not yet definitively diagnosed as multiple myeloma and active multiple myeloma. There is much speculation and not much science as yet with respect to survival rates for those in this stage, and even whether and which treatment protocols for it demonstrate success, Her Dad passed away from MM many years ago, so the risk was always there. She is a wonderful person, an artist, and was founding curator and is now curator emeritus of the Knights of Columbus Museum in New Haven, CT

Please remember Mary Lou in your prayers that, if it be God's will, this terrible disease not progress, and, otherwise, that she not suffer. Thank you.
