does anyone have a link to a divine liturgy in church slavonic as an mp3? also one in English would be great too!

I think I have a few church slavonic divine liturgy records in mp3 format. I'll look through my computer and, if I find them, I'll upload them somewhere and provide the link.

Though not actual liturgy recordings, check the offerings at Recorded Music [mci.archpitt.org]. Thompson's Schola Cantorum renditions are what I'd call awkward Prostopinije: note-precise but devoid of "duch"; not representative of a parish's congregational participation. MCI may have an historical-recordings page also but I didn't find it; one of my favorites is a mixed English-Slavonic (historically significant since it documents the transition) 1966 at St. Michael's Cathedral: see Bishop Kocisko 1965 consecration tape?;and Re: Prostopinije recordings on-line; and Pontifical Divine Liturgy 1966. The webmaster referred to was me so I have that file (somewhere).

The Paschal Divine Liturgy from Sunday morning has some Slavonic.

"The Noble Joseph" from Good Friday Vespers (near the end) is excellent with natural harmony, especially after the faithful enter the church after the procession (about 1:14:00 through 1:18:20), but you have to really turn up the volume to hear the harmony - sounds awful on the laptop but great in the car).

Edit: I started listening to "Jerusalem Matins". It's hauntingly beautiful.

Do you have more information. It appears to be Bright Tuesday, a nominally Tone 3 day. Ruthenian, obviously, Francis/William/Kurt vintage (≤ 2017 ?). The Gospel is also in English. They take one of the two small litanies, and chant the Tone 3 Resurrectional Troparion, which is not specified in the old Levkulic Pew Book or Fr. David's Typicon, but fits. Cherubic Hymn is podoben Likej Presvjataja, From our hearts we sinners. It's an interesting and nice recording. Thanks for the link.

As I'm listening I'm trying to figure out who the priest is. I could only think of one who could do the English and Slavonic like that, and I knew it wasn't him; yet the voice was familiar. Then, of course -- but am I correct? -- Fr. Michael Kerestes?

I like Fr. Michael, maybe ill ask him sometime if its him.

Jack, you are correct. It's Father Michael Kerestes, one of the very few priests I know of who could do a liturgy in Slavonic and English like that (Father John could, too, of course).

Fr. Jack (Custer) was the one I had obliquely noted but I knew it was not he. (Is that Fr. John Basarab?) I wouldn't be surprised if Fr. Michael could also do the liturgy in Hungarian; I don't known about Fr. Jack for the Hungarian but he probably could in Gaelic (Gaeilge).
