Please pray for Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfeyev) who was recently demoted from his high offices with the Moscow Patriarchate (some would say he was second in command after the person currently occupying the patriarchal throne).
He was, in effect, banished to be Archbishop of Budapest and Hungary . . . Metropolitan Hilarion refused to bless the war in Ukraine. Enough said.
n accomplished Orthodox theologian and music composer as well as a consummate ecclesial diplomat and ecumenical relations expert. To add to his impressive resume, he is a great Christian and man of principles based on the Gospel.
May the Lord always guide him and protect him!
