Please pray for the newly departed Servant of God Vasillios, who feel asleep in the Lord about 11 hours ago; for his widow Golfa, and for his adult children Georgio, Stavroula, and Maria.
"Bill" was a champion for my family's journey into Orthodoxy and for my Ordination.
Suffering from COPD, he had been hospitalized off and on for the past fourteen months both here and in Greece.
His health rallied sufficiently so that he could attend my Ordination and be the very first person to receive the Holy Mysteries from the Chalice I served on Lazarus Saturday.
As his health declined, he became the first person I would visit in the hospital as a Deacon and anoint (with dispensation) with the Holy Myron.
And tonight, his family became the first I would visit in the home as a Deacon.
May his Memory be Eternal!
