I remember several years ago my Bible study instructor was Muslim. When I had a friendly talk with him, I found out that his mom is Christian and his dad Muslim. So I concluded by thinking that he was Muslim to my surprise he said no...he was CHRISTIAN and that he preferred his mom's faith over his dad's. These are a few examples of moderate Muslims that integrate in our Christian world. They are humble, open-minded, have teachable spirit the way it should be with any healthy spiritual individual.

If only they could think about eternity and eternal life especially when people are young! They assume they're invincible or untouchable! Sooner or later they'll come to regret it.

This has been my argument about catechesis of the young. Somehow it does not penetrate when it comes to dating, marriage, and all that goes along with it. Often--in my experience--the spouse who is devout begins to lose some faith in order to make things work on a day-to-day basis.

I have a story about one spouse dominating the other. It is only tangentially related.

I made up advanced funeral plans for a couple decades ago. The man was one of the nicest people you would ever meet. According to his brother-in-law, however, the wife ruled the roost and made ALL the decisions. The man always seemed like he was beaten down, rarely raised his eyes, and rarely smiled. During the planning, the wife made all the decisions except one. When she asked him what kind of casket he wanted, he perked up and became alive. Finally able to make a decision on his own--the second one in his life; the first being at the wedding when he said "I do."

What I am going to say is unpopular in many circles. We, in the west, tend to view Islam as just another religion or denomination. Folks, Muslims are not Methodists or Presbyterians. I often say that Islam is a political system with religious trappings. YMMV (your mileage may vary) but that's my 2 cents. The goal of Islam is to eventually suppress other religions and dominate. It seems to me that needs to be kept in mind when dealing with it.

This mentioned family in my OP is a sample of bad fanatic Muslims; hence the reason why I started this thread asking for Urgent prayer for this pawn.

We are well aware of that byzanTN; however as you may have seen in one of my posts here #422850 when I talked about the good & Smart Muslims, some of them are converting to our Christian faith either thru marriage to Christian, or thru having one parent Christian, or by simply immigrating to the west. The best way to convert them is to become the BEST version/saint we can be trusting that if we do our part, the Battle belongs to the Lord.

byzanTN: Do a google search about Muslim converts to Christianity and see the HUGE numbers of the converts to our beautiful Christian faith.

Muslims are just as smart as all of us and looking for TRUTH...just like all of us. All it takes is HUMILITY, TRUTH-SEEKING. A religion that teaches people to hate/kill others is unappealing even to the average person.

Actually,, IMHO, byzanTN, is accurate in that Islam is reallya totalitarian political system with a religious veneer. Nothing more, nothing less. I have read material written by a Coptic Orthodox priest who is in hiding in the U S who writes about Islam. He has doctorate in Islamic studies and exposes the Koran for what it really says. Muslims are either in full agreement withor are marked by their own as apostates. We cannot call them "bad, fanatic Muslims" because they are following the dictates of their religious/political beliefs just as we are when we preach Christ. They, for their part, believe what Mohammad claimed, which is that Christians and Jews have deliberately distorted the previous revelation of the Creator.

I never negated that. However, we should not STEREOTYPE them as a whole. A big number of them actually do not like their religion and feel deep inside that it's not a good regime as it creates divisions between people and is very patriarchal regimen that considers men as superior and more intelligent then women.

You conflate Islam, the system, with Islamists, the practitioners. To understand what Islam is, you read the Koran as it has been transcribed--the Koran forbids actual translation. You gain an insight into what it is and what it teaches. People come in all sorts of gradations of practice, as happens in any religious system.

Please continue to pray for this gent and also for the girl who forced him into apostasy and her family that God would open their eyes and see the truth and beauty of our Christian faith. This is a Prayer thread! If it's diverted from the main topic, that does not change the purpose of starting it in the 1st place. Hence it's about a lost soul not about Islam. Thank you!
