In your charity, on this, the 11th anniversary of his repose, please remember in prayer our beloved forum member, Father Archimandrite Serge Keleher, who posted here, initially as 'Incognitus' and, later, under his own name. Father Serge was a man who loved the Eastern Churches and contributed greatly to the forum sharing his knowledge and understanding of the history, the personalities, and the issues confronted by our Churches, Catholic and Orthodox.

O God of all spiritual and corporeal beings, You Who trampled death, broke the power of Satan and granted life to the whole world, now, O Lord, grant continued and everlasting rest to the soul of Your departed servant, the Priest Serge, in a place of light, freshness, and peace, where there is neither pain, nor sorrow, nor mourning, but only life everlasting.

As You are a gracious God and the Lover of mankind, forgive him every transgression committed by him in word, thought, or deed, since there is no man alive who has not sinned, for You alone are without sin and You are the Resurrection and the Life, O Christ our God, and we render glory to You, together with Your Eternal Father, and Your most Holy, gracious, and life-giving Spirit, now and always and forever.

May his memory be eternal and may his loved ones be comforted in the prayerful expectation of being reunited with him in Heaven.

With the Saints give rest, O Lord!

I knew Fr Archimandrite when he lived in Toronto working on his Master's degree in theology while being the pastor of St Seraphim of Sarov EC Church.

revert to Eastern Catholicism, Father Archimandrite was deeply knowledgeable in all things Eastern Christian while at the same time being somewhat controversial within the Ukrainian Catholic eparchy where he lived and served. He looked very much like a Russian Orthodox priest which raised people's eyebrows here. But our bishop Kyr Isidore Borecky took him under his protection and treated him as his mentor in Eastern Church matters.

I had the personal privilege of learning so much from him. I admired also his great love of his own Irish culture and the people of Ireland where he relocated and was pastor at St Kenneth's Chapel in Dublin.

He spoke Ukrainian and Russian as he spoke English and Irish. We both had icons of the Pillars of Orthodoxy but he told me he wouldn't put his in the church because there would be those who might be upset by it . . .

And he introduced me to the St Herman Orthodox Calendar and the traditions of Orthodox sainthood.

May he truly rest in peace!!!
