A couple of hours ago I read a post on Facebook by Ray Mastroberte that included the text of an obituary which affected me very deeply. It reported the sudden and unexpected passing to eternal life, on May 20, of Father Archimandrite Anthony (Falsarella), a valued member and contributor to the forum for almost 20 years and an Administrator here for many years. I considered him a dear friend, online and in real life. He was a wonderful priest, a kind and very knowledgeable person, and an extremely talented photographer.

In your charity, please remember him in prayer.

O God of all spiritual and corporeal beings, You Who trampled death, broke the power of Satan and granted life to the whole world, now, O Lord, grant rest to the soul of Your departed servant, the Priest Anthony, in a place of light, freshness, and peace, where there is neither pain, nor sorrow, nor mourning, but only life everlasting.

As You are a gracious God and the Lover of mankind, forgive him every transgression committed by him in word, thought, or deed, since there is no man alive who has not sinned, for You alone are without sin and You are the Resurrection and the Life, O Christ our God, and we render glory to You, together with Your Eternal Father, and Your most Holy, gracious, and life-giving Spirit, now and always and forever.

May the memory of our dear friend and brother, Father Anthony, be eternal and blessed and may all of his loved ones be comforted in the prayerful expectation of being reunited with him in Heaven.

Memory Eternal – Archimandrite Anthony Falsarella [thenationalherald.com]

I am shocked to learn of this. We were good friends but had not communicated since exchanging greetings on Pascha.

Some years ago, Father Anthony stopped to have lunch with me in Altoona while he was on his way to an Archdiocesan meeting in Ligonier. We had a good meal and good fellowship.

O God, Thou didst raise Thy servant,Anthony., to the sacred priesthood of Jesus Christ, according to the Order of Melchisedech, giving him the sublime power to offer the Eternal Sacrifice, to bring the Body and Blood of Thy Son Jesus Christ down upon the altar, and to absolve the sins of men in Thine own Holy Name. We beseech Thee to reward his faithfulness and to forget his faults, admitting him speedily into Thy Holy Presence, there to enjoy forever the recompense of his labors. This we ask through Jesus Christ Thy Son, our Lord. Amen.
