I posted back in 2021 about trying to find a parish/mission in central Virginia.

I converted to Orthodoxy in 2018 and have been attending an OCA parish since then. Before my conversion I was a Latin Rite Catholic. I have been interested in Eastern Catholicism for a while, especially the Byzantine tradition, but my only options were a local Maronite parish and a Byzantine Catholic/Ruthenian parish over an hour away.

I discovered that the UGCC has a mission in my area. What is the best way to reach out to the priest and talk about returning to the Church? He seems to be from Ukraine and the bulletin posted online is half Ukrainian/half English so I am a little nervous attending an ethnic heavy parish since my OCA parish is mostly converts. What would be the process of returning to the Church? I am also nervous because I feel called to the Church but seeing how much change might be going on with the Synod on Synodality this year and next I wonder if this feeling is misplaced.

Greetings,
We may have spoken previously online. There is a small group of Melkites affiliated with Holy Transfiguration, McLean that is having vespers about twice per month in Richmond. We, actually, are meeting this Saturday at 5pm at the Maronite Church. If you like, message me offline and we can talk further.
