I have begun getting into reading on the the Cappadocian Fathers. Right now I am reading, well, several books at once, but for the purpose of this OP The Complete Works of St. Basil for now, though I have others. What books would you recommend for a Catholic in enriching his understanding and practice of Byzantine Catholic prayer, theology, worship, etc.? Thank you and God bless.

Christ is Born!!
Wyatt,
Welcome to the forum. We hope your time with us proves to be spiritually uplifting and frutiful.
May I suggest two books that I have found priceless. Though, not written by Byzantine Catholics, they are reflective of the Byzantine spiritual patrimony shared by Byzantine Catholics and our Orthodox brethren.
Beginning to Pray and Living Prayer, both authored by Metropolitan Anthony (Bloom), an Orthodox metropolitan. They are both dated from the 1960s, but I believe they can still be found in current editions. I believe there is also a third by this same author--Courage to Pray. I have all three.

I have three books by Orthodox writers as well.
1) Welcoming Gifts: Sacrifice in the Bible and Christian Life by Jeremy Davis is an excellent an account of sacrifice in the Ancient Near East/Torah and how it relates to Christian practice both in the Eucharist and Christian life.
2) Arise O God by Father Andrew Stephen Damick - a very brief over of the Gospel.
3) Religion of the Apostle by Fr. Stephen De Young.

Thank you and God bless. www.amazon.com/Byzantine-Rite-History-American-Liturgy/dp/0814621635/ref=sr_1_1 [ amazon.com], which explains the history of Byzantine worship; The Philokalia, a collection of teachings on prayer and spiritual growth; Byzantine Theology by John Meyendorff, which explores key beliefs; and The Art of Prayer, which guides you on deep prayer practices like the Jesus Prayer. These books will help you better understand and practice the Byzantine Catholic faith.

Christ is in our midst!!
IMHO, the best way to enrich one's understanding of Byzantine prayer is to buy a prayerbook and begin to use it. Byzantine prayer opens the door to theology because it begins with the notion that when we pray, we pray our theology.
That is the path I took in 1970. I have never looked back. All the other books become understandable once you have immersed yourself in prayer.
