Fr. Claude Robinet, SJ, former head of the Byelorussian Service of Vatican Radio, died in Brussels January 6. He had been the Vicar of the Greek-Catholic parish of St. Anthony in Rome and collaborated with the Russian Service of Vatican Radio. Fr. Claude spent his latter years in Brussels where he helped celebrate at the Greek-Catholic parish. He was a friend of the Madonna House community in Resteigne, Belgium. He told me that after he was ordained he was scheduled to replace a Jesuit colleague in Canada who had founded a parish to help Russian immigrants in Montreal, la Presentation. But that never occurred. The colleague, Fr. Joseph Ledit, had often visited Madonna House in Combermere, Ontario where he was a friend of the foundress, Catherine de Hueck Doherty. Fr. Claude is survived by a brother, Christian, who is a major educator and author in French-speaking Belgium.
