Christ is in our midst!!
John Steve,
There are also websites pretending to sell icons that are blasphemous. One example is a group that markets as "Monastery Icons." There was a big discussion about this group decades ago. Basically, they are a New Age group that began as Christian are now involved in paganism. But they still sell what look like icons. We had one of their samples posted here years ago that had a huge snake framing an icon. That should give you an idea.

Don't overlook antique shops and even flea markets.
I've made a number of "rescues" from such vendors.
Of course, not knowing the history of the Icon's use or abuse they always go to the Altar for 40 days.

While they haven't the widest range online, may I suggest copticbookshop.com [ copticbookshop.com]? Their range in store is far greater, if cramped.

Thank you all so much! I must admit that I had already purchased a few icons from Monastery Icons prior to making this post. I too was a bit unsettled by the Latinized icons that were available. I am sure it was one of the first to appear in my Google search so I went with it. Moving forward I will use what has been provided in this thread.

Christ is in our midst!!
Francis,
The members of the group behind Monastery Icons began as a Christian group but they are, today, a pagan group--probably Hindu. There are threads here that have discussed them years ago and they might help. If memory serves, they apply a demonic curse to the icons they make.
Their work came to our attention at that time when they offered an icon with a large snake that surrounded one of their offerings.
