In our eparchy there is no Diaconal program established yet. I have applied for the Diaconate and I am wondering if someone can give advice on items that I could study on my own and where I could find these books.

The Ruthenian Eparchy of Passaic has a diaconal formation program. Maybe you could contact them and see if there is a way to study through them for service in your own eparchy (Ukranian?).

The director of vocations/ diaconal formation is Father Ed Cimbala. His contact info is at this web page: http://dreamwater.org/edu/passaic/vocat.htm

Good luck,

Frank

PS Maybe Father Ed could give you info on books to study. Also the Antiochians have the Saint Stephen's course for preparation for dicaonate http://www.antiochian.org/638.

The Saint Athanasius Academy also has distance ed courses which might be helpful: http://www.saaot.edu/
