Just wondering: Does anybody know where I can find the full text of the Philokalia online? A friend wants to know.
I have a copy checked out from a library and it's WAY overdue so it could benefit me as well. I haven't gotten more than a few pages into it and I started "The Way of a Pilgrim" (which is AWESOME, I've finished the first book of it) recently, in hopes that the Philokalia would make more sense to me thereafter.
Is many copy's translation just bad? I had to constantly flip back to the glossary and even then I couldn't make much sense of unfamiliar theological terms. Any suggestions on that would be appreciated as well.

There is a small portion online I believe, I thought I had it bookmarked but don't see it.
Actually if you check out Amazon you may find some good used copies, they are usually very reasonable, occassionaly you will find one on eBay too.

Rose, Likewise. I think it may be excerpted somewhere on the GOA site [ goarch.org] , although I'm not certain. Many years, Neil

You could try this website also http://innerlightproductions.com/ You can subscribe to his mailing list also and receive various sayings of the desert fathers. Just a quick question.....while on this subject...are the philokalia, the sayings of the Desert Fathers and the Apophtegmas (not sure of spelling) all one in the same thing. I thought so but just want to make sure. Peace and blessings to all in the New Year, Chaire
